Torremarabino Reviews
We have just returned from a most restful week at Relais Torre Marabino. THe rooms were spacious and comfortable. The organic locally-produced breakfasts were a feast of fresh fruits, freshly baked cakes and pastries with great coffee enjoyed on a shady terrace beneath olive trees and vines. The pool was clean and there were always enough sun beds. Staff were incredibly helpful with helping us to organise day trips and advising on the many interesting towns nearby to visit in the evenings. OUr kids aged 12, 9 and 5 were able to wander around the gardens and house freely and were made to feel very welcome. Dinner was delicious and always had children's options available
My husband and I stayed in September 2014. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was good and the bedroom one of the best and most well equipped we have ever stayed in. The hotel has a pleasant swimming pool area and the breakfast is served from a buffet outside under the trees. The dining room was lovely and the food excellent. Would strongly recommend this hotel.
The only downside would be that the actual surrounding area was a bit boring, and a vegetable growing area but the hotel is situated within easy drive of very interesting towns, (Modica etc
The receptionist was charming and gave us a lovely welcome. The room is excellent quality, large, and well equipped. The breakfasts are amazing - lovely fruit, cold meat and cheese, warm pastries, both savoury and sweet, fresh cakes, and potent coffee. The best meal of the day.
The restaurant serves quality food, but it was a bit too rich for my liking. The three courses of antipasta, pasta and main each had two alternatives, but nearly every time the choice was between meat and fish - minimal vegetarian options. There was very little salad or veg available. I asked for a vegetarian pasta dish a couple of times, which was duly provided, but again it was still very rich. If you like your meals to consist primarily of starch and protein, you'll be happy, but if your preference is for a lighter diet, you'll struggle here. We thought the wine was quite expensive.
Overall, a very good quality hotel but I wish I'd booked bed and breakfast instead of half board
Stayed four nights and loved the peaceful atmosphere of this place.Front of house were really helpful. Our room was looked after perfectly. The food was excellent...especially the fish. The wine was top notch for the price.Service by Luigi and Marguerita was without fault.Breakfast cakes and coffees were delicious.Even the gardener gave us a buongiorno!Places like this, where everyone sings from the same hymn sheet, are rare.Don't change a thing Marabino, you are that good!
Had a perfect two week stay, great small hotel, perfect spot to tour southern Sicily, very friendly staff, great facilities, great fresh
Breakfast, very close to wonderful beaches in Pozzalo.Only 30 minutes from Comiso Airport
We were delighted to squeeze in last minute for a couple of nights at this lovely hotel. I will not repeat everything I wrote about Torre Marabino in my previous review, suffice to say that all still holds true. The staff are uniformly charming, friendly and just really keen to give you a good experience, and it was a delight to be back.
Just one note about visiting in late October, as we did: if you are a swimmer, like me, the pool is really freezing. So if you want to sunbathe AND swim at the hotel (the sea is still warm), come a little earlier in the year
Relais Torre Marabino is located near Ispica in the south-east corner of Sicily. It is 1.5 hours south of Catania and well located for visits to Syracuse (inl. Ortigia), Modica, Ragusa, Scicli, Noto, Marzamemi. We had originally planned to drive out to local restaurants for dinner each night however the wine and food at the la Moresca Restaurant was so good that we decided to dine in and were presented with a different and very tasty menu each night.
The staff are just terrific, food in restaurant wonderful and general ambience for us perfect. Its possible to relax around pool or do wonderful day trips to surrounding places which are absolutely unique to Sicily.
What a lovely place. It is so relaxing. We had a lovely room (Archimedes) with a roomy en suite. All the staff were delightful. The breakfast is organic and tasty. The restaurant for our evening meal offered a limited but tasty menu. The staff were more than willing to adapt to suit individual tastes. The site is well suited to visiting major sites in South Eastern Sicily, especially if you are a Montalbano fan! In addition, the gardens are lovely and the gardener is keen to share his knowledge and there is a lovely pool
No wonder Torremarabino has earned such great reviews. It surpassed expectations and we will definitely return. The gourmet Sicilian tasting menu with wine pairing was fantastic and luckily we didn't have far to go to our room! The bed rates as the most comfortable we have experienced on our trip through Sicily. Lovely people and a perfect stay. It is outstanding.
