Torremarabino Reviews
Really lovely place , nice room and the most beutiful garden. Great base for exploring this area of sicily, with a lovely garden and pool to come back to each evening, and a superb resturante. The staff were very helpful too and advised us on places to visit. We found we were only 5 minutes from a massive beach by car, great for walks and swimming. The rooms have small kitchens so it is great to make tea and snacks. Breakfasts on the terrace were wonderful. You do need a car here, but there is plenty of parking . Highly reccomended
We visited Torre Marabino for dinner, it was quite a long drive from Modica and way out in the country. The building is an ancient Saracen tower and part of a large organic farm and winery. We started off with tasting various wines with nibbles before settling down to eat. The meal consisted of several courses sourced from their own organic farm and was very enjoyable.
I have seen many hotels and places in the world - this is definitely one of the best. Excellent location, excellent service, very nice room(s), outstanding dinner (BOOK HALF BOARD!), very good (italian) breakfast. Though it is very calm it's child friendly the same way. Our son (2,5 years) loved the little playground, the pool, the surroundings (you feel far far away from everything in this oasis). The one and only disadvantage: You will eat too much, so prepare for tough training after coming back home! ;-)
In beautiful surroundings with a lovely garden. We stayed for 6 nights and it was a good base for day trips. The reception/concierge was very helpful with suggestions. The pool area was very good too, so if you want to relax for a day....The breakfasts were really good (easily the best we experienced in our stay) and the evening meals well above average.
The bedrooms are in the tower, so there is a compromise between natural light and privacy.
We arrived after dark and had great difficulty in locating the hotel. Detailed directions would have been helpful.
I have said it all before, but Torre Marabino is such a lovely place to stay, with an experience of welcome from the staff that is unlike almost any other hotel we have been to in Sicily (Palazzo Gambuzza has the same feel, but is much smaller). It is this family-feel, as much as the beautiful building, fantastically well maintained gardens and pool, completely unsurpassable breakfasts ( Eleanor should have her own special Trip Adviser prize) and delicious dinners, that makes coming to the Torre such a wonderful retreat.
As others say, book half board. And I would say book the superior rooms, like Don Paulo and Archimede
It's a great location to travel around to Ragusa, Noto, Modica, Vendicari etc, and the beach at Pozzallo in June was beautiful, with warm sea and completely deserted!
We stayed 4 night in Relais Torre Marabino and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Very warm welcome by very attentive and efficient staff in the reception, at breakfast and at dinner. The building and grounds are beautiful and .very well maintained. The breakfast had a very good range of tasty local organic foods. The dinners were of a very good quality cooking with excellent service. Excellent all round and a must if you are in this part of Sicily.
This Place is fantastic, rooms, staff and food.
We will never forget this stay,it was very hot outside during our stay around +40 °C, but with the pool and the view from this area, we did felt very comfortable.
The dinner in the vening is something extra, very good service and very well educated staff.
We were a family of 6 and had two of the suites. Both were lovely rooms with cooking facilities as well as mezzanine bedrooms. They were spacious with air conditioning with fine bathrooms.
The gardens were lovely and beautifully maintained. The pool was also great and needed in the heat. The staff could not have been more helpful and sorted out a boat trip for us when the deposit for the boat got complicated.
We stayed half board and even though we worked our way through the menu over the course of the week, there were specials every day. The food was superb and I cannot recommend the restaurant highly enough. For fish lovers, there were options every day and there were vegetarian options as well.
The hotel is a jewel and we highly recommend it!
We almost cancelled! Arriving by car from Agrigento, we were unable to take the highway through Modica, and almost aborted our trip. Luckily, Simona contacted us at midnight to suggest a slower seaside route which turned out to be the loveliest leg of our journey. She literally saved our skins! The perfect hostess! A few Kms from Ispica, amidst orchards and huge fields, a centuries old Saracen tower has been transformed into a luxurious hotel with just seven rooms....and a pool.....and terraces.....and gardens and a gourmet restaurant where chefs and staff cater to as little as two or three tables a night, or to wedding parties and travel groups. Our room was at the top of the tower. Huge... with a kitchenette corner closet furnished with fridge, stove, sink, dishes and an Italian coffee urn. A large modern bathroom, soft linens and old table and chairs and a huge armchair. In the morning we could hear the farmers in the fields, and at night we supped in style. Truly a wonderful place. Grazie mille, Simona
Rooms are very big and nicely warm, even including small kitchen.
Breakfast is comprehensive and typical Italian! Dinner is also good, although some dishes weren't what we expected (sometimes very strange combinations).
There is a playground, a pool, a garden, good access to highway, etc.
Torre Marabino surely is recommended!
