1914-2026: The National Institute of Ancient Drama, now known as the Inda Foundation, has been revitalizing the tradition of classical shows at the Greek Theater of Syracuse for 112 years. To mark this anniversary, a program has been arranged featuring both timeless classics and exciting innovations.
The 2026 season at the Greek Theater will showcase three tragedies:
- Antigone by Sophocles, directed by Robert Carsen, translated by Francesco Morosi
- Alcestis by Euripides, directed by Filippo Dini, in the translation by Elena Fabbro
- The Persians by Aeschylus, directed by Àlex Ollè, translated by Walter Lapini
These works share a common theme: a passion for the Greek theater of Syracuse.
And after last year's success, Giuliano Peparini returns with his show of music, dance, and poetry drawn from the Homeric poem The Iliad, based on the chosen and translated verses of Francesco Morosi.
